Thunder Bay Rocks!! While it's a cozy smaller city, during the summer it is a
magnet for all the tourists looking for "action". The rest of the year, the students at the
town's colleges & universities keep the various establishments hopping.
If you are looking for night-time fun, you will definitely find it in
Fredericton. The city has a wide assortment of nightclubs, bars, and lounges
for you to drink and dance the night away.
Thunder Bay is a small city, and has a quite diverse bar scene. The city is
blessed with TWO downtowns, therefore with two sets of after-work bars. And the
city has two colleges and universities, in between the two downtowns.
The Port Arthur (Downtown North) area is getting a lot of new development, with
the recently opened Casino and all. There are also a number of nice
restaurants around Algoma & Bay, creating a critical mass of places to go eat
and then to go out. Places like On Deck are popular here.
The Fort William (Downtown South) is where all the government employees are
clustered. City Hall is downtown, and across the street is the City Hall Annex (in Victoriaville)
and some just west of there in the Ontario Government building. This area has a
lot of "lunch" restaurants and after-work bars.
Places like Armani's, the Inntowner, and Players are popular in this part of
town, with Scuttlebutt's nearby on Arthur.
In the geographic center of the city are Confederation College and Lakehead
University, which create a large number of younger drinkers for the bars along
Memorial The fact that the Port Arthur Stadium and the Community Auditorium are right there increases
the potential business for bars in this area. The Keg is
popular in this neck of Thunder Bay.
There are other clusters of restaurants and bars around town, so you won't have
to go far. Many of the hotels around the city also have nightclubs that make
your stay much more exciting. As well, the city has a vast array of
smaller lounges and quaint pubs that are great for having a few drinks before retiring
for the night. Night time in Thunder Bay is the best time. Discover it for yourself. You
won't be disappointed! We've got some great suggestions for you.
