Home: McIntyre Neighbourhood
This part of Thunder Bay is actually two areas: North McIntyre along Dawson Rd where it meets Government Rd, and McIntyre South around John Street where it meets the Thunder Bay Expressway. McIntyre South includes the development of Jumbo Gardens, across Dawson Rd from the County Fair Plaza. Most of this community is rural in nature, with homes on large acreages, though near County Fair, the homes are on smaller subdivided lots.
Schools
The community has no elementary or secondary schools. The public and Catholic schools are across the Expressway and e a bus ride away.
Shopping
County Fair Plaza is the largest shopping mall in the area and is very close to the neighbourhood.
Recreation
The community is largely rural and has wide open spaces. North McIntyre has a community hall and there is a large park, with an outdoor ice rink (in season) west on John St Rd. There is a running track across the Expressway at West End Park.
